History

In the 13th century the Order of St John operated a hospital for the poor and for pilgrims here. These days the hospitality is provided by Domingo in the modest albergue.

So glad Grado was full and walked the extra distance to this place! The views were spectacular and it was so peaceful. The host was kind, generous and comical. Would visit this place without question. There was food for us to make and eat.

I dropped in to visit the Albergue Villapanada to see the old hospital and the view was spectacular. If I had known this place existed I would have walked the extra hour from Grado. The kind host gave me water and offered me food even though I wasn’t staying the night. Stock up on supplies before you arrive from Grado as there is a fully equiped kitchen- and always some leftover pasta and rice and some fresh vegetables available. Maybe take some meat to share as a treat. They have alcohol there.

Do ingo brings pasta and things to cook. He is particular about certain thi gs but is very helpful. View is stunning from slbergue
