Landaco is a tiny hamlet between Aroue and Jaureguiberry on the GR65. No services. The landscape is transitioning from Bearn to Basque Country -- green hills, bracken, and the first white-and-red farmhouses appearing along the trail.

Steve truly believes in sustainability and everything about this gite shows this - from homemade soap to real towels and sheets. He does the laundry (much appreciated!) and cooks an amazing dinner including lovely snacks with aperitifs. He is so accommodating to pilgrim needs and preferences. Thank you Steve for an beautiful evening

There was stiff competition for this spot of top gite from La Virlage right near the start of the Le Puy, but Landaco does it for me. Care of pilgrims underlain by a permaculture philosophy. Hot showers, washing done for us, breakfast preferences noted, next night's destination checked (we were at the very end of the season), lunches made, a wonderful dinner, full bedding, towels supplied. And an interesting and flexible host, Steve. Make a generous donation to this donativo. It is absolutely worth it.

Between landaco and jaureguiberry there is a gîte called amaren bidea a aroue where you can find a little épicerie with fair prices and some local produce. We stopped there halfway in our walking day for a coffee and to get some water, lovely couple

Au milieu de nul part, un donativo tenu par Steve très très sympa avec une table d’hôtes délicieuse, apéro copieux et des plats à partir de produits frais qui font le plus grand bien. Steve est à sa juste place

Lieu, accueil et hébergeurs magnifiques. Vous serez ici comme des rois dans un Havre de paix. Nourriture plus qu excellente, draps qui sentent bon et on fait même votre lessive.... un des meilleurs gîtes du chemin selon moi.... allez y !
