I stayed 3 nights here in St Jean PDP to get organized before my Camino. The hotel was well located near the Camino itself as well as a big grocery store and an ATM across the street. Clean and basic but not fancy.

Yeah, no bars of soap (nor pump dispensers), they give you these small packets of body wash or shampoo, so not ideal, but they were nice and the place was clean. Love the espresso machine which some more expensive places don’t always have. If you can, ask for a room that is NOT on the street as it can get really noisy.

This was not the start I was expecting on my first Camino. The accommodation had dusty floors, the room was tiny, and there was no soap (of any type) in the bathroom. When I requested some soap, I got a strange stare. They said I could use the one tiny single satchel of shampoo. I explained that it's not for washing hands and, in any case, I would need to use that tiny amount to have a shower in the evening. The response was, "Why do you need it?". I told them, "I want to wash my hands after going to the toilet." They replied, "We don't have any. "
I would have expected a much better attitude and customer service for a reasonable request, especially for a room that cost nearly €95 a night.
