Hospital de la Condesa takes its name from a medieval pilgrim hospital founded by a countess. The village is small — a bar and an albergue — but it sits in a pleasant mountain valley. The terrain begins to descend from the ridgeline here.

Just had a delicious tortilla with coffee. Kind welcome with lots of space inside and on the terrace by the road. Oh and they make pizza!

Not sure why it's not marked but there is a bar, Mesón O Tear, open early for café and tortilla. We stopped in at 7:30am on a Saturday. It was a beautiful site as we thought we had another 4 km to go for our first café con leche. Service was friendly and the tortilla was fresh and tasty.

Clean, comfortable, spacious between bunks, and not crowded as most polgrams had stopped at the previous town. Nice bathrooms and showers. Microwave in the kitchen but no frig as I recall. That did not matter to me. Nice restaurant down the street with the best chicken soup you can imagine! Nice hostess at the front desk. I recommend this place.

After a long walk up I arrived at 1pm. Asked for menu and was prompted to take a seat. Decent pilgrim menu on offer for 14€. Pizzas also available if preferred.

The albergue is clean and comfy. Very modern.
The lights by the bed have usb plugs under them.... handy discovery!

Laundry machine was 3€

Bar nearby had menu at 13€, good food, but kitchen closed near 7pm.... Cuidado!

Pilgrims are grateful and don’t demand like tourists. Tourginos are not welcome on the Camino

We had the most delicious lamb stew for lunch. Served by two delightful ladies. We were hot and tired, and they were most welcoming. One of our most favourite meals. 😍

Having read most recent comments, this is a disappointment because there are another 12 km to go before next decent food place..

The two ladies who work at the restaurant O Tear are some of the nicest people I have met on the Camino. Menú was delicious with local cheese or local fruits for dessert.
