Valdelafuente sits a few hundred meters off the camino. No reason to detour unless you're staying at accommodation here.

Nice bar with good specials on way out town on left beside big mat. 3.80. Fresh made juice tea and tortilla 3.80€

As the previous post said, if you follow the map instead of the sign you go up a hill. This was 100% the best part of my day. You are rewarded with final stretch of dirt road before Leon, a wonderful view, and some quiet and solitude before the city.

The warehouses mentioned are just 2 short blocks as you get back to the main road. You then get another dirt track around the traffic circle to a pedestrian bridge that joins you back to the town route.

Unless you need food or toilet I highly recommend starting on the dirt road.

The main signposted Camino route now goes through Valdelafuente. We followed the route in the app but got a hill and a walk through warehouses instead of the main road. I think the main road would have been better.
