A small village with a bar and an albergue. The walking from here to Astorga crosses rolling farmland with increasingly good views of the mountains ahead — the first indication that the meseta is ending and something bigger lies beyond.

The Road

The approach to Astorga becomes more interesting as the terrain begins to rise gently and the walls of the city come into view.

Watch out for the pack of dogs before the village there's about 6 large dogs that will harass you loudly

After Santibanez and b4 San Justo, this was our breakfast stop - how beautiful. Especially after the unexpected hills.

Bar Valle de Orbigo. Recently opened. Very pleasant and hospitable owner. Great service and very tasty food. Mad if you don't stop here.

After walking along the Camino trail along the highway all day, it was such a blessed moment to find this private albergue. I fell into my plush bed with a thick comforter and napped for 2 hours! The place is beautiful in its simplicity, clean and managed by a caring and friendly hostess. The home cooked meal of lentil stew was nourishing and delicious! Just lovely!

The owner is a true delight. She’s so sweet and truly takes care of her guests. She runs it with her sister. Super clean. Good pilgrim meal. Definitely the place to stay in this town.

This place is a must to stay , the owner that runs the place is such a tiny, sweet, bubbly person. She makes you feel comfortable right from the get-go. I would highly recommend this place and her chicken burgers are amazing stay for the hospitality, the quiet rooms, the clean place to sleep, and the great food, and always the smiling hostess.
