Refugio Gaucelmo made me feel welcome and cared for as a pilgrim. The volunteer hosts were warm and helpful while all so being efficient. I had a hot shower. There is a lovely common area inside and a huge outdoor area. A highlight of Gaucelmo is the afternoon tea including the visit and wisdom provided by Brother Antoine. I would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful old building with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. So kind and helpful staff! Afternoon tea at 5. And don’t miss the mass with the monks singing and praying in the old Church next door ending up with a blessing of the pilgrims. A beautiful and intense experience no matter who or what you believe in.

Lovely albergue with beautiful gardens, as well as a nice salon with a fireplace (very cozy as it gets colder!!). Tea served at 5 was very nice too. The spirit of the place is embodied in its hosts - warm, kind, and considerate!

The hospitaleros (Ken, Nigel and Ruth) were great hosts and took every opportunity to make sure our stay met expectations. Tea
Was served at 5:00pm
Highly recommended.

In our opinion this was one of the nicest places we have stayed. The hosts were wonderful and couldn’t do enough to help. The place was spotless, the amenities were clean. Afternoon tea and biscuits were great as was the simple breakfast. In all, great. Don’t go past this place

The hospitalerios that we had during our stay went above and beyond to show us kindness. The accomodation itself was very clean and the dorm neat and tidy. The old building has beautiful charm and ‘tea time’ at 4pm was a delightful experience. The kitchen was well stocked with a stove and oven as well as many pots and pans. Would stay here again in a heartbeat

Highly recommended. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The hospitaleros are gracious and welcoming. The bathroom and showers are nice. There is a large courtyard for visiting or sipping tea (it’s run by a British confraternity.) There is also an opportunity to pray in the nearby church with the monks next door.
