It is difficult to separate Samos from the monastery that dominates this small village. The monastery albergue here is reminiscent of the old albergue in Roncesvalles; one long vaulted space full of hobbling pilgrims, snoring, and laughter. I cannot recommend the experience enough.

Opposite the gas station is the Rúa do Salvador. At the end of this road are a wonderful shaded park and one of the oldest surviving buildings on the camino, the 11th century Capilla del Ciprés.

The Road

Pass Foxos, and in Teiguín the camino splits again.

It is possible to stay on the road all the way to Sarria, but the connection to Aguiada is recommended. Along the road to Sarria is 8.8km, via Aguiada 12.6km

It is irresponsible for this app to include walking on the road from Samos to Sarria as an option Please remove. The road is busy and dangerous to walk.

Please please please take this option by road from Samos to Sarria off this app. It is dangerous for pilgrims to walk on the road. It is a fast road with bends and should not be included here. It was my worse experience

We took the road way, big mistake quite dangerous at times with no shoulder to walk on. We thought it would save time but sorry we did, was our worst day.

We had an excellent breakfast here. I asked for fried eggs and toast using Google translate and got an excellent serving. I am a woman and so were many more that came in after me and service was great. Sorry others did not have the same positive experience as I did.

Saw several women try to get served here. The extremely rude woman at the bar completely ignored them. Would only serve local men. Why give them any money when there are other places in town?

Rude. Rude! Will not serve women!

We had lunch at Albaroque today and were truly impressed. Loved it!

Do not take the road route from Samos to Sarria, it is dangerous as the road is busy with no footpath at all. It should not be included here as an option due to the danger of walking on a busy road.

The road route to Sarria from Samos is not pilgrim friendly: no path, you are walking on the tar surface into traffic on no shoulder.

It’s lovely here. My room is beautifully furnished. Very charming place. Glad I chose to stay here
