The Romanesque Igrexa de Taboada is a short detour across the highway. The carving of Samson wrestling the lion over the doorway is particularly fine. Volunteers keep the church open for pilgrims between 8:30 and 15:00, but it's closed on Tuesdays.

The Road

Continue through the forest on well-marked paths towards Silleda.

Marco made us a great vegetarian pizza. Some advice to others, since we had a difficult time understanding where café was located, it is actually beyond Taboada. After passing the church beside the highway, re-enter the path through the woods for another 1/2 km before reaching the industrial area.

A must stop place less than 50m from the Way. Turn right after meeting the industrial area and you can see the glass roof entry to the Café Bar Ugía.

Marco was amazing. Speaks some English and will do everything he can to help Pilgrims. Stellos (stamp) here.

Amazing food. Fresh tortilla and quality coffee to refresh you on your way. We were two wet and weary Pilgrims who he feed, allowed us to shower and change. Even though we nearly flooded the cafe with our wet clothes and bags, nothing we did was a problem.

Today, for us, The Camino provided Marco of Café Bar Ugía.
