The Road

Between Fuenterroble and Morille the camino splits into two distinct routes. The split happens 11.7km from Fuenterroble at a place signposted as Dueña de Abajo.

LEFT ROUTE - 31.8km (20.1km from split)

This route is slightly longer but has the benefit of hosting a pair of albergues in San Pedro de Rozados. However, that is the only village with any services until Morille. The high point along the way is the Pico de la Dueña (14.4km) and beyond that is the private pig farm Calzadilla del Mendigos (6.8km).

RIGHT ROUTE (THE ALTERNATE ROUTE) - 29.2km (17.5km from split)

Slightly shorter but with two places to stop for a coffee, this is the preferred route if you are going through to Salamanca.

I found this route beautiful! Stunning views from the top of the gentle hills with windmills.

Only thing is, the Wise Pilgrim map shows the Camino on the Asphalt road DSA-204 almost all the way to San Pedro when in actual fact, the Camino is on a parallel footpath (also shown on Gronze) Any chance you could
update this pls?

This place is special! It’s the most warm welcoming, authentic experience on the Camino thanks to Padre Blas and his team of wonderful volunteers. The building is beautiful and cozy, the grounds are wonderful and the communal dinner is the perfect way to share a meal as a traveller. Men and women have separate lodgings and they even have a few rooms for couples.

Don’t miss it!!

I emailed ahead for a single room, advertised as €25. When arrived very unhelpful lady told me ‘ yes’ single room but because I had sole use of bathroom (the only one downstairs and it wasn’t en-suite) that would be another €25, so €50 for the night. When a friend who speaks Spanish argued the pint the owner said she needed to feed her children
