Martiñán

The camino passes through As Paredes and under the A-8 into Castromaior — barely more than a few houses. Signs direct you onto a path to Martiñán, crossing beneath the A-8 yet again.

The Road

The camino passes through As Paredes along the same road/trail that you entered on and will bring you back to the A-8, this time to pass underneath it into the hamlet of Castromaior. In Castromaior (not much more than a few houses) signs for the camino direct you back onto a path to Martiñan. Along the way you will again cross beneath the A-8.

Este albergue es sin duda el más bonito de nuestro Camino del Northe. Sin embargo, sólo se me permitió pernoctar con mi perro en algunos albergues seleccionados.
¡¡¡¡Nos dieron una bienvenida muy calurosa y encima me prepararon un menú vegano - nunca he comido tan bien en todo el Camino!!!!
¡Muchas gracias - un lugar maravilloso y habitable!

This hostel is definitely the most beautiful on our Camino del Northe! However, I was only allowed to stay in a few selected hostels with my dog.
We were given a very warm welcome and, on top of that, a vegan menu was prepared for me - I've never eaten so well on the entire Camino before!!!
Thank you so much - a wonderful and liveable place!

This albergue was so beautiful!
Recommemd reserving ahead of time if you want to stay here (18€ with link provided via WhatsApp).
Such a relief to feel warmth when entering after a cold wet day! Covered area to remove boots and leave poles before going inside. Drinks and snacks available for sale at very reasonable prices.
The pilgrim dinner for 10€ was very nice (and he made separate vegan replacements for me) and included red wine.

My sleep wasn't great - mainly because one of the other pilgrims had audible phone notifications, on top of the snoring, bit that's not a reflection of the albergue. Please set do not disturb on your phones for night hours - some of us are light sleepers :)

All the comments so far are right - this is a wonderful and very stylish albergue, very welcoming and run by a good host. The dinner was tasty and plentiful, and the rooms, food, and drinks are reasonably priced and a good value. There is a small pool to cool off in, a place to handwash clothes (or you can machine wash), wifi, and snacks available to buy. Breakfast is ready and set out at night so you can eat in the morning when you are ready.

Jaime was so welcoming and friendly. It was by far one of the coziest places yet and the pilgrim dinner was awesome. Very clean with snacks and drinks available.

Architecturally the most interesting albergue I’ve seen on the Norte and worth a stop even if you don’t stay overnight. Cold drinks and snacks are available and you can take a break in the yard. If you do stay, a nice dinner is available and breakfast is self-serve so you can start walking any time that suits you.

October 2021, €15: One of the best Albergue’s I stayed in on the Camino del Norte!
I love the traditional old farm house, lovingly restored and concerted into an Albergue, but Jaime, the host.
I had one of the best sleeps in, under white cotton sheets! Lovely big spacious bathroom.
Jaime cooked a traditional Spanish diner for the pilgrims (€10). Large sitting room/dining room with open fire places.
The breakfast the next morning was the best I had in any Albergue, with muesli and fruit and toast etc etc.
The Albergue is in a beautiful remote, rural, peaceful setting, surrounded by gardens - would be perfect for an afternoon of relaxing in the summer.
I really loved this place.

Jaime has created a wonderful space. This was the best Albergues I stayed on the Del Norte. Simple as that!!!!

Camino de Sant…

Very nice Place made of Stone and the Garden seems to be nice to. Today it’s a rainy one and I had my tea inside the common area.
No gluten-free no soy products
