You just have to try their chicken- Really, I can’t forget that chicken taste even after a month I’ve eaten it. Must stop for sure

A wonderful place opened 3 days ago (may 2025) before Sao Roques, just after the big hill.
It's 15 euros to sleep in a small dorm of 4, there are also private rooms.
It is beautifuly decorated, hosts (brother and 2 sisters from England) are welcoming and helpfull.

Sheets in your bed, free coffee and tee, nice shower.

I highly recommand.

António was a lovely host. A quintessential Portuguese country home, built over 300 years ago, and well loved. He drove us to a local restaurant for dinner, and then picked us up later. And he had a well-spread breakfast for us in the morning. Highly recommend for the experience.

Don’t be tempted by Albergue Constantino. Clean but below most albergues today, even for a private room.

About half way to Sao Roque, as you come off the slope, is the lovely Bar Roulote. A welcome stop if needed.

Just 1 km before sao roque is a nice and beatiful place to take a stop before or After the climb. Such a live Saver

3 miles of the caminio before Rubiães we found a private little paradise on top of the hill with a swimming pool.
Well equiped clean location. Price €70. Arranged to bring us to the restaurant.
It was all perfect
