Another Ponferrada suburb that the camino passes through. A bar provides refreshment. The Iglesia de San Esteban has some Romanesque elements. The transition from city to countryside is gradual here.

The Road

Continue toward Fuentes Nuevas. The suburbs thin out and vineyards begin to appear.

Made a quick pit stop here during our walk and found the most AMAZING pastry shop a few steps off the trail, near the town hall/water fountain/La Campesina statue. Shop is called Campesina Pasteleria and everything is homemade. Warmly welcomed. Take extra napkins for the massive chocolate croissant!

Camino de Sant…

Stayed here with my wife in a double room in September 2021. Good value at €30 but be aware food choice is very limited and of, at best, average quality. There was nowhere else open for food so it was either eat there or go hungry. I would walk a bit further to one of the next villages if l walk this way again.
