Otañes is a hamlet of about 750 residents on the old camino route between Baltezana and Castro Urdiales. The area has Roman roots — the road through here follows an ancient route. No services for pilgrims.

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

I made a stop in Otañes for a break and coffee. The shop and bar is located at the square. You can easily find it on google maps. I arrived at 10.50 and it was only the shop open. I bought an ice cream and an ice coffee and sat down on a bench. 10 min. later the bar opened and I went to use the toilet and have a hot coffee. A really nice break.

There were a bar and a small shop in Otañes at the main square, great to have a break!
