El Barrancón

El Barrancón is a point along the mountain route between the Alto de San Antón and the Tercia valley. There are no services here — just the path, the mountains, and the sky. The name refers to the ravine that the trail follows as it descends from the alto toward San Martín and Poladura.

Be advised that there is a herd of goats with multiple large dogs guarding them. I was unfortunate enough to have to walk through the goats and the dogs ran up to me and barked/growled. One even sniffed my hand but I just walked slowly and unthreatening and never made eye contact. They didn't bite me and I am glad I didn't know about it totally prior to arriving here, but.. I was scared
