The camino leaves the road at the start of town near the restaurant Manuel Julio.

Camino de Sant… (not verified)

It looks on the map shows a couple of back roads that can avoid at least half of the N1 portion. Although the N1 stretch is not that long might still be worth it. We did not see the option until we we half way along the N1.
