A hamlet at the base of the hill leading up to Santarem. No services. The climb ahead is a welcome change from so much flatness.

The Road

Turn left to cross under the railway. The climb ahead is a welcome change from so much flatness. Santarém is at the top. Turn right when you get to the main road in Santarém and continue straight until arriving at a large roundabout (actually a big oval). There are multiple routes through town.

The climb was very difficult! On a super hot day after many kms of little to no shade it was taxing to make it up the hill so maybe take a good break before the hill begins and leave yourself some water for the climbing

Recommend stocking up at first stop. It's a long day.

100 m after Omnias when you walk the road to Santarem on the left side you will find 2 small pools wih cold water and 4 small fountains with running water, stop here and put your feet in the pool👍😀

Camino de Sant…

Nothing here. no seat, shade nor coffee; just the beginning of a steepish kilometer or two climb. Did not see any drinkable water.

Camino de Sant…

Lots of farmland and only rocks to rest on. Not much shade.
