When I arrived in May 2023 I was sick for several days. Think I had corona. Elena took such good Care of me - making me feel safe. Lovely food. Nice beds and extra blankets if you need it and the possibility to have your clothes washed and dried.
Would recommend this Loving place.

Definitely stop here for one of the best Cafe con leche on the Camino! They had many different food items for sale. I had a homemade cookie, which was absolutely delicious. Very nice people. Highly recommend!

Elena is such a kind and caring lady who made sure we felt comfortable in her home.
The food was gorgeous and she fitted breakfast in at a time to suit us.
I have an allergy so mentioned this before hand and she was extremely accommodating.
Would go out of my way to stay here again as it was so lovely ❤️

So inviting and caring.
After not being able to secure accommodation in Estalla, Elena welcomed our party of 3 with open arms.
Beautiful accommodation, amazing home cooked meals (dinner and breakfast), quiet location.
Elena truely cares for the pilgrims and will go out of her way to ensure they are looked after. The blessing she gives as you leave in the morning makes the stay even more special.

Such a great place to relax, especially through the love and care of Elena. Fantastic pilgrim dinner with Jacob shells. In the morning she stood in the door and rang the bell to say good buye to everyone. Thank you for your special heart you put into your hostel, Elena!!!

Elena made me feel very welcome,
She had the best attitude, it looks like she loves what she is doing.
Nice place, clean and comfy right in the Camino.
Highly recommend La Perla Negra.

Pass Estella an continue to the little town Azqueta. You will meet a very friendly hostess that will do everything to make you feel at home. It is clean and nice and you will be served a very good dinner and breakfast. The atmosphere is relaxed and you will have a good rest. The next day you will be ahead of the crowd, filled with energy and ready for a new day.
Price include bed, home made vegetarian dinner and bed.

The Perla Negra in Azqueta is welcoming, warm, and roomy. The atmosphere is relaxed and Elena, the proprietor, is elegant and generous of spirit. She prepared a delicious common meal for us. The beast I’ve had so far. No bunk beds here. No crowding. All peregrinos were kind and polite with each other as a result of the good environment engendered by Elena. Finally, we were provided with a great breakfast and a warm, morning send off.

Elena made sure we were all comfortable. The meal was all I love to eat since I am vegetarian. She had quinoa , a chickpea stew with fresh vegetables. Spinach salad and scallops. Nice glass of wine before bed and some fruit to finish dinner.

Highly recommended!
