Empaca tus cosas y vuelve a casa y ódiete a ti mismo.

David blew me away how he single handedly juggles all the jobs whilst also engaging and socialising with a full house. He miraculously produced a wonderful dinner with lots of bonhomie . There was wine and there was dessert and there was guitar playing and song. Donativo amazing is his generosity.
The setting is colourful, clean, green and utterly unique. I will always remember La Boheme as a complete standout on my Camino

We had a chickpea stew with Moroccan cous cous- delicious. A very homely place with a gorgeous outdoor area. David (owner/host) was fun, interesting and made my stay fantastic. It’s been my favourite place to stay so far. Bar Susana in town is also highly recommended if just passing through.

Nothing else to do but relax. Well stocked fridge. Lovely vegetarian communal meal. Breakfast provided. All donation. Host does the washing. There is no wifi. Bathrooms downstairs. Dormitory in an attic room upstairs with a very steep stairs to access.

David has created the most wonderful and welcoming space. He is passionate about what he does and goes above and beyond to make the pilgrims feel welcome and cared for. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and the food was made with love and delicious. What a beautiful experience - I highly recommend this stay.

This is perhaps the most uncomfortable I have been on the camino so far.

In the beginning we were welcomed warmly by the host who seemed warm and a bit eccentric. In the next few hours he devolved into a narcissistic man-child who can't stand any other voice than his own. And "his voice" is a whole lot of new age mumbo jumbo in which he is just mixing up multiple religions and (pseudo-)science. Nothing wrong with that, but him shouting at people, borderline bullying and having childish tantrums are. Add to that an unhealthy relationship with alcohol and you've got David, one moment charming and then a volatile mess for the rest of the day.

I just stopped interacting with him and tried to keep to myself in order not to attract his attention. Later on in the evening he nearly got into a fight with another guest for no reason...

As for the good: while I do think David is troubled, his place is beautiful and he really goes the extra mile for his guests (foods & drinks wise). The food was excellent and I do think he tried his best (in his own way). Sadly, it was too much David for me and it ruined the entire experience for me.

This Donativa is run by Dávid, a Frenchman who did the Camino himself and loves it. You can feel his love the minute you walk in the door. He's a delightful and engaging host. We had actually booked at another place in town, but were looking for a place to eat, disappointed that nothing opened until 7:00 p.m. Our host called Dávid and asked if he would kindly feed us. He agreed, and soon after we were enjoying the most delicious, home-cooked vegetarian meal! Though the meal was a donativo meal, we gladly paid generously for it, delighted with the quality of the meal, as well as with Dávid himself. One of the highlights of our entire Camino! Please do not miss this lovely spot....Ami, Rick & Suska May 17, 2024
