This alburgue is really a true bit of camino luxury steeped in GalÍcian life. The owners are warm and welcoming. The place is clean and real goodies like a nice garden area and laundry room and an indoor, stocked sala y cocina. Very clean and like everyone says real towel, delicious homemade food in the restaurant/bar. As acommunity hub, locals and peregrinos are together eating, drinking, & socializing. I love the vibes of the rural alburgues, and this one does not disappoint! It offers a break from insudtrial alburgues and glimpses of real Galician life. Friendly, helpful, homey. Have a nice brekkie and coffee in Muxia and stop here on your way back or get in early to enjoy Muxia from here!

This albergue was very nice and the hosts were incredible! There was a semi-large room filled with 6 bunk beds (12 beds) and a smaller private room with a bunk bed, that came off the large room. Shared bathroom for male and female, with 2 toilets and 2 showers. There was a shared living area that had a small kitchenette in it, which had a fridge, microwave, and kettle. €18 honestly seemed a little steep for a bed, but it was the only albergue open in the town. However, the bed came with a disposable sheet, a proper duvet, and a real towel, and the restaurant food was incredible! Unfortunately they did not have a pilgrims menu running even though they had a menu for it. Regardless, there were lots of other options which were cheap enough and my food (hamburger) was delicious! The bar/restaurant was in a different building to the albergue, which was in a different building to the washing/laundry area. The laundry had a handwashing basin and a drying rack, a washing machine and a dryer. There was also an outside area, which would have been lovely to relax in if it hadn’t of been raining. Very small town, not much else around (or that was open when I was there anyway - beginning of May). The hosts were the ones who made the experience great!

Oh, wow! The owners are wonderful, the albergue is lovely, and the pilgrim’s menu was the best meal I’ve had in days.

Albergue O Cabanel is a very clean, modern albergue in a quiet, charming village with great fresh home made food in the bar below.
Rachel keeps the place very clean and the beds and showers are big. With excellent washing facilities and a garden to sit in, one of the most pleasant albergues we have been to.
Also has a private room with private shower..

Camino de Sant…

The hostel is great; clean, good beds, large showers, great terrace and garden and good place for washing and drying clothes. In addition to being a pleasant host, Rachel provides great food for dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend this albergue.
