If you're planning on more of a classic Camino stay at a monastery, this isn't going to be that. The chapel is closed except on Sundays, and while they let pilgrims know that they have a meditation room upstairs, it's not what you might expect- it's more of a yoga room with floor mats and a Buddha statue. It could be exactly what some are looking for, but would also be a suprise for others going out of their way to come here.

You do have the option of staying at more of a normal former monastery the night before Santiago, in a town called Herbon, they have a full tour and a group dinner, I'd highly recommend it.

That being said, the grounds are well-maintained, the price is reasonable, and the place has all of the essentials you'd need.

I loved my stay at this gorgeous place! Everyone was welcoming. The rooms were simple and clean. The showers were warm. And the breakfast was delicious! I highly recommend it and wish all my albergue experiences were similar to this one.

A very special place to stay on the Camino! The albergue is set in a former monastery, which gives it a unique and peaceful atmosphere. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming — truly some of the most hospitable people we've met on the Camino.

There is a kitchen where you can prepare your own dinner, and they offer food on a donation basis, which is very thoughtful.

We had a private room on the top floor — it was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view.

We can only recommend this place for your stop along the Camino!

A must-stay. Comfortable bed, restrooms and good kitchen to cook. A mini market close by has the essentials you can buy to cook. The building (super preserved) from 1000 years ago, plus all the nice vibes from the hospitaleiros are a great relief after a long walk from Porto. Please try the escalda pés and the meditation room, from where you can see a beautiful sunset . I recommend 100%.

The staff was super gracious as I think they’re volunteers at the monastery. Fruit, cereal and coffee for breakfast. Nice kitchen/dining area was great too.

(In February) a good first stop from Porto. 10€ +5€ for sheets + 5€ for breakfast. Very cute place but rooms are cold. Breakfast is bare bones but tasty and was upgraded to a two person room as it was quite. Showers take a while to run hot but are in private cubicles
