Après de nombreux jours sur le Camino, arriver à la Quinta Estrada Romana m'a fait sentir comme si j'avais trouvé un petit morceau de paradis. Cachée dans la campagne tranquille de Cerdal, près de Valença, cette auberge a une énergie paisible et accueillante qui vous reste longtemps après votre départ.

Dès que j'ai franchi la porte, je me suis senti chez moi. L'hôte m'a accueilli avec gentillesse et une véritable chaleur — on peut voir que ce lieu a été créé avec amour et respect pour les pèlerins. L'ancienne maison a été magnifiquement restaurée, mêlant histoire et confort de la meilleure façon possible. Tout était impeccable, les lits étaient très confortables, et les douches étaient parfaites après une longue journée de marche.

Ce qui rend cette auberge vraiment spéciale, c'est l'atmosphère. Le jardin est magnifique — plein de vie, d'arbres fruitiers, de fleurs et d'endroits pour s'asseoir et se reposer. J'ai partagé une soirée là-bas avec d'autres pèlerins, cuisinant, riant et regardant le soleil se coucher sur les collines. Cela m'a rappelé pourquoi j'avais commencé à marcher.

Il y a aussi un dortoir réservé aux femmes, que mes camarades pèlerins ont apprécié pour son environnement calme et sûr.

Si vous marchez vers Saint-Jacques et que vous cherchez un endroit qui nourrit à la fois le corps et l'esprit, ne manquez pas la Quinta Estrada Romana. C'est plus qu'un arrêt — c'est un souvenir que vous porterez avec vous jusqu'à la cathédrale.

The host are very friendly and the place was beautiful. It was nice to hangout in the yard after a long day of walking. However, please keep in mind you CANNOT cook your own meals here. They do not allow you to use the kitchen. They do provide a family dinner for 13 euros (at least) per person. I think this is important to note because anyone with allergies or food sensitivity might have a difficult time finding a way to eat dinner. We had bought pasta before we arrived and were unable to cook it.

All in all, super friendly host & a nice and clean place to sleep! (: Buen Camino!!!

Diogo is a one of the best host we had during the camino portugues. The albergue is beautiful, in a calm and friendly environment. The garden is just perfect to rest during the afternoon! The common meal (donation) during the evening is just a fantastic moment to share with everybody. Diogo gave us as well many tips and a great route to finish the camino. I really really love it ! Go for it !

A phenomenal stay. Feels like home, super comfortable and an incredible shared dinner. Plus a wholesome breakfast in the morning. Loved my stay here and highly recommend this spot. Diego provides you with great tips for the remainder of your Camino. Loved it here!

Once you walk in the door, you become family. Accommodations are beautiful and clean. All the pilgrims joined in a “family meal” costing a donation. Breakfast was simple, but available any time. Diego (?) gave us tips for the Camino.

This is a beautifully restored farmhouse where the host and his family also live in private quarters. Diego made us a homemade soup and meal with fresh tomato sauce. His young son joined our table and we had a delightful evening. The hostel is clean and one of my favorite on the path!
