Puente Arnelas

Services
Bar
Yes

Il y a un petit bar (saisonnier) sur ta gauche lorsque tu arrives à ce carrefour. Il y a un bar/restaurant plus grand juste au-dessus de la rivière.

The Road

The woman behind the bar is super friendly and sweet to perregrinos, all I asked for was an espresso and I got a bit of moist cake and some local fruit with honey. There’s a stamp by the bar and a guest book to sign on your way out.

Lovely stay, restaurant downstairs, bit of a dated room but who cares, the shower was perfect and spacious.
Big balcony where we could dry our clothes.
For the food you don’t have to be in a hurry or hungry; it takes a while when it’s on the table. But again, who cares; food was delicious.

This is the best place. They are open early. The lady is the sweetest thing. The food is good and the coffee is great.

What a sweetheart! I stopped on the way through for lunch. I ordered a piece of tortilla, and soda, and a small cup of wine. All for 5 euro, which is more than fair. Then, the keeper loaded me up with a bunch of extra goodies just because! “You can’t have tortilla without a little chorizo, of course. And then if you’re going to have some wine you need some empanada gallega to go with it. And what is lunch without a niece piece of bread”. What a gem!

Great cute hotel next to a little creep and right on the route. 60€ for a double with big breakfast incl. They offer breakfast to go if u want to leave before 8am.

I stayed here in Apr 2023, and ate in the cafe/restaurant. The room was very dated with dark wood panelling, but perfectly functional. I enjoyed the evening meal. They provided a tray in the accommodation foyer because I wanted to leave before they opened the dining room. There was enough food for breakfast and lunch.

Well worth considering.

We stayed at this place just as you get to Os Castanos and right at the turn of the trail.
The restaurant is very apparent and quite busy but very good. We had to wait about an hour to check into our room - I think between 1500-1600. The rooms are private. Accommodation very nice. We paid 55 euro for a twin room including a very good breakfast. I did not see anywhere for hanging laundry other than on a railing outside your window. The acting manager was very nice, very busy but also very accommodating.

We found this beautiful hotel in os castanos, just a little deviation from the route, with affordable prices (the same as an albergue in combarro, approx. 30€ per person), private room with bathtub and buffet breakfast. It is run by Marta, a lovely host. Definitely recommended.

Hotel O Noso Fogar is a great budget hotel option I discovered. The woman running it offered an early dinner for pilgrims as well as breakfast. Highly recommended!
