Des hôtes tellement accueillants qui nous ont offert du vin et d'autres gourmandises en nous détendant dans l'espace extérieur. Une bonne ambiance de pèlerin et un emplacement près des supermarchés et des restaurants. Il a fait un peu chaud la nuit parce que la chambre était un peu surpeuplée, mais l'atmosphère a compensé. 10/10!

J'ai envoyé un e-mail à l'avance pour demander s'ils seraient ouverts le dimanche 4 janvier et ils ont répondu par e-mail qu'ils étaient ouverts. J'ai renvoyé un e-mail les informant que j'arriverais vers 21h - mais je suis finalement arrivé vers 20h. Selon Google Maps, ils ne ferment pas avant 21h30. Les voisins m'ont vu bloqué dehors et ont appelé l'intendant, mais apparemment personne n'était dans le bâtiment ce jour-là. C'était une expérience très frustrante. Je sais que c'est sur la base de dons, mais on s'attendrait à ce qu'un refuge pour pèlerins soit un peu mieux géré, ou que si sa capacité est faible, ils ferment simplement pendant les vacances. Les voisins ont dû m'aider car il n'y a aucun moyen de les joindre en dehors de l'e-mail, et j'ai finalement dû prendre une chambre d'hôtel qui dépassait mon budget.

Avertissement pour les voyageurs hivernaux : venez bien avant la nuit ou réservez ailleurs

Albergue situated in the centre of beautiful Barcelos. There is one room with bunk-beds upstairs. Downstairs you have restroom, showers, and kitchen. We actuallz didn’t expect much because it was for free, but it was very nice place, clean and with cozy atmosphere.

We could drop in, even before the check in. The lady showed us around and assigned our beds. Meaning, we could have a shower, wash our clothes and chill, even before the daughter came to register us.
Cool place, nice common area, has a kitchen, and the sleeping hall at least gave some sense of private space, although you will be kept awaken by all the snoring people.

It’s great that they accept reservations.. and provide some blankets
Otherwise.. there is only one shower place which you can share with another person 😬.. no shower cabins
And the garden is very small compared to the other albergues so far.
Barcelos is a lovely city

It is a donativo albergue. Showers are ok, hot water. Kithen is fine, but not really for big cooking. Small garden, so you can put your clothes out to dry. Paper sheets provided.
Lady is normally in the cafe next door, so tricky to get in, also if you leave for some shopping or dinner, not easy to get in, sometimes ringing the bell and another pilgrim is opening. Otherwise ok. Barcelos is a lovely city, i loved it more than Porto.

This is a lovely central Albergue. 20+ beds downstairs and upstairs. 3 mattresses in what I call "The Coffin", a low down space. Handy for those struggling to find a place to stay. Good toilets and hot showers. A place to hand wash and hang your clothes. A roomy kitchen area if you feel like cooking. 👍. Love this Albergue.

It’s a good location and nice courtyard. The shower was warm and they had blankets. There was WiFi too.

Definitely not open as of today 29th March 2024. Don't go there, looks like a building site.. Got lucky with Top'Otel, got a room at short notice.

It can get a bit crowded upstairs. We were lucky enough to stay in a smaller room downstairs. But it’s very clean, nice showers and bahrooms, with a spacious common area, kitchen, laundry, and a sunny patio where you can hang your clothes to dry. Very pleasant stay.
