Be sure to visit the small chapel and get a stamp from the blind caretaker. You will need to help him with the stamp. If you are religious, there is a font of holy water for which you can bless yourself. It is beautiful.

We woke up 4am in the dorm with the bed full of bedbugs. We immediately left the room and took our stuff outside. While sitting outside and making a plan, everyone else in the room was also leaving. They all had bedbugs in their beds.

We considered waiting until the owner was showing up in morning. But based on a google review we found about the owner not taking it seriously, we preferred to walk and have time to get everything fixed when when we arrived.

Bedbugs!!! Thankfully upon entering the dorm and seeing the low standard of cleanliness I decided to do an inspection. Room was obviously unclean, dirty dusty corners of rooms and bed frames. The mattresses had fabric covers stitched onto them presumably to stop people from inspecting the mattresses. Found dead bedbug pretty quickly. Also evidence of recent bedbugs on pillows. Told the owner and showed him a photo and he tried to reassure me it was ‘just one’ and that they use pest control.
He offered to change room to another building that definitely did not have bed bugs. If you know you’ve had a recent problem, then why not use that building whilst you sort the problem?
Left without a refund to find another albergue. Not worth the trouble.

Lovely stay away from the masses. The little hamlet and albergue offers all that you need. Goos beda & bedding. Friendly staff. Pilgrims menu was sufficient. Best lentil soup I have had in quite a while.
