The albergue is on a donation basis (you pay what you want/can). The owners will offer you beer, cider, sodas, and water as you settle in. Then, dinner is served (delicious home made food and wine or whatever else you want to drink). At dinner, the group decides at what time we will all get up and breakfast is ready downstairs (also delicious!). Since they only have 11 beds do call ahead to reserve your spot. I stayed this week at Bodenaya under the new care of Allison and Alberto, and, as someone who stayed twice before when David and Celia ran it, and who has known Alex, the founder and first hospitalero for many years, I can tell you that this legendary albergue is in great, loving hands. Left feeling incredibly refreshed both physically and spiritually! Remains a must stop on the Primitivo!

Wonderful stay with David & Celia who looked after us all so well. I was amazed to find a Tranmere Rovers football scarf hanging up and when I talked with David, it turned out that he worked in the town where my father's family came from. Staying here felt like staying with family.

This is a brilliant little albergue with fabulous hosts. Small rooms with just two or three beds and dinner/breakfast provided. You won’t be disappointed
