if you like horrormovie vibes take the original route.
i wanted to walk the 1st variant leading outside of Sigüeiro (yellow line), i wondered why the original way is not signed and only marked here in wise pilgrim. i walk alone as a woman and after passing the church and the cemetery up to a lonely forest trail i felt i am the only pilgrim taking this way. the alternative route (red line) is pretty good marked. but okay, i continued walking the orininal route untill i passed a house that made me stop for a while and figured out that there was something pretty weird and creepy: there was a big dead dog laying in the backyard and chaoticly around him bones and big animal skulls. the house itself didn't really look like it's a completely lost place, i really wondered about what is happening there and suddenly got a really bad gut feeling about this way, i didn't wanna follow it further, so i turned around and went all the way back to the alternative route. if anyone takes this way and can figure out more about that house and it's bones and skulls in the backyard pls feel free to write me. i also can send you pics i took!

We just finished using a laundromat in Siguero and the dryer setting was so high it melted parts of our clothes. The melted pieces stuck
to other items, so lots of damage to our special hiking clothes.

I would try to skip Sigueiro and rather go directly to Santiago. Sigueiro is already quite expensive and close to Santiago.

Recommended to a group of us at Casa Avelina. Great choice. Warm hosts, very nice albergue with towels/blankets/coffee, and breakfast included for 18€!

I lucked out and found this really clean and new Albergue across from the park/ sports complex as you walk into the city. Includes towels and sheets and at the time of writing, laundry wash and dry is only 3 euro total. Continental / small buffet breakfast is included in 18 euro price.
