8월 17일에 몰리나세카에 있다면 양동이를 빌리거나 훔쳐서 도시 전체에서 열리는 물싸움을 준비하세요. 전날에는 <산 로케> 축제가, 다음 날에는 <앙구스티아스의 축제>가 열리며 보다 전통적인 행렬이 시내를 행진합니다.

The Road

<몰리나세카>와 <폰페라다> 사이에는 거의 전적으로 도로와 인접한 인도를 걷게 됩니다. <몰리나세카> 중심부에서 3km 떨어진 곳에서 카미노가 갈라집니다. 카미노는 도로의 커브길에서 좌회전하여 <폰페라다>로 가는 길에 <캄포>를 지나게 됩니다. 우회전하여 도로를 따라가도 <폰페라다>까지 똑같이 갈 수 있으며 시립 알베르게로 가는 길이 더 짧습니다.

A big shout out to the boys from Crepe and Roll. It’s a kiosk in funky gardens up at the river end (you’ll hear the music). We’ve just had a delicious burger and crepe.

Unless you want to bypass Ponferrada completely, stay on the wide sidewalk on the main road. The Camino turns left outside of Ponferrada and goes thru Campos and then through some trash and graffiti ridden residential areas interspersed with weed choked vacant lots. The road has no shoulder and the traffic is fairly heavy. You completely bypass Ponferrada and have to backtrack into town if you want to go to a restaurant, use an ATM, see the castle or spend the night.

This town was adorable and the women at the pharmacy were so kind and helpful. It was well-stocked. Time your journey through here so you can take a swim and cool off in the afternoon. Even if you don’t plan to stay the night, swimming here is a beautiful and fun experience. The water is chilly, but not unbearable. It is so refreshing. Hike for moments like these. Take the time to enjoy it all. At the very least, take a seat on the edge and soak your feet. The cool water will help with swelling and aches.

The Albergues outside town is run by the worst Hospitalero on the Camino, not only did he make me go back to town to change a 50 euro note instead of waiting for more pilgrims and giving me change it was stinking hot in the hottest heatwave in 50 years and I couldn’t get a beer. He put Spanish people on the second floor with insulation and Europeans and Asians on the top floor with no insulation to toast. He refused to fill the bbq gas bottle so we could cook. And the sign says Albergue 200 metres and is about 2 km out of town. Pathetic

Señor Oso is a brand new Albergue right in the center of town, very clean and modern. Nice beds, washer/dryer, kind host. So glad we stopped in, they have only been open two days.

A new Albergue opened in summer of 2019. Young hospitalero very nice, accommodating and knowledgeable with town. Hostel is modern and perfectly located in center of town. Host gave recommendations for dinner options, and hostels for the next couple of towns. He was very accurate with his recommendations. Don’t make the mistake of passing this place if you decide to stay in this beautiful little town after a hard decent from Cruz De Ferro!
