I have myself a rest day at Via Avis and I am SO GLAD I DID. It’s a boutique hotel for cheaper than some of the motels I’ve stayed in. Carlos and Daina has bought this stone home that was built in 1776, and they spent 6 years renovating it as it hadn’t been lived in for over 100 years. They did a faaaabulous job- the renovation is gorgeous and the decor and furnishings are superb. I spent my time hanging out in the Salon with the view and taking a bubble bath in my gorgeous hotel room. They don’t serve dinner there but David at La Boheme has a great vegetarian donation dinner that I was welcome too. This is probably the only place on the Camino that I want to go back for another visit. DONT MISS IT!

This is a charming little town, and the first albergue you see (El Caminante) is a great place for an overnight stop. Clean, comfortable rooms and bathrooms, a wonderful pilgrims’ meal for a reasonable price (14€), and other pilgrim extras. We were so glad we stopped!

I walked into Bar Susana hoping for a humble tortilla. She made me a fresh omelet with toast with herbs! Delicious and filling and the bar has great vibes. Highly recommend!

Great breakfast stop. Had a ham and cheese croissant fresh out of the oven. The owners are former pilgrims and we had a great chat while I ate.

What an oasis! You can get amazing muesli bowl with yogurt and fruits. My healthiest second breakfast on the Camino so far. Also, very nice staff!

This 19th century home with a lovely courtyard was refurbished by the grand daughter of the family. They provide a delicious meal and breakfast. They are happy to make any dietary changes you want. Wonderful and comfortable!

We stayed here because La Boheme was closed. Dinner really average but not too expensive (11€) compared to the average. Men's shower not working, women's shower working but not strong and taking an eternity to heat up. Shower, toilet and sink in the same room that can be locked, so you can't access the toilet if someone is showering. Overall not good.

Stopping at this cafe this morning was a highlight of our Camino. The young couple from Düsseldorf who own the Cafe are delightful. The apple cake ala mode was delicious and they were so gracious and welcoming. We wish them the best of luck in their new endeavor.

Absolutely delicious food. I had a spinach quiche topped with pine nuts and a GRANDE Cafe con Leche!!!
Great place to stop!!
