I loved this place, i got here early and they let you sit in the lovely garden to wait. The owners have walked the way and know what its like to have to wait on the street for an albergue to open. The shower was great, regardless of how it looked it did its job , the owners are so pilgrim focused having walked the way previously. The meal was really good, the owners went to a lot of effort and it showed. Yes the roof creaks but after some of the snoring I've endured on this walk it really didn't bother me. Would I stay here again? Definitely, I loved it.

It’s a very odd place. Showers are like Dr Who’s tardis and the roof creaked so much as the temperature dropped at night it was almost impossible to sleep. Sorry, even though the meal was very nice, I wouldn’t recommend this one.

… has some of the best tortilla we’ve had on the Camino. The texture is perfect and moist! :)

If you spend the night in Murias and you want to take the detour to Castrillo, then you don’t have to backtrack or walk beside LE 142.

Find the small park next to the river on the north side of town. Cross the foot bridge and turn left. Take the first right after about 75 m and walk between the short walls. The path takes you out to the double track dirt road that is marked on the app as the alternate route to Castrillo.

Google Maps shows it as Calle Carolina Otero, although that might be an error because that’s also the name of several other unconnected streets in town.

Telso and his wife are the new proprietors of Bar Felix (4 months now). They are warm and welcoming. The food is all homemade and delicious. If you are looking for a traditional Spanish meal that is not the basic, bland pilgrims menu, come to Bar Felix, chat with Telso and enjoy some amazing food and great company.

Seems to be under new management now. No pizza or Italian food. Definitely not the same place as before.

The delicious pizza lives!!! The owner just changed the name since he’s Italian to something more home. The pizza is amazing!!! Eat here for dinner for sure. Don’t miss this for a change from the menu del Dia. Enjoy!!!

Coming en Roma, del Bar Felix serves delicious authentic Italian pizza lovingly created by Ricardo and Miriam. If you find yourself in this little town, don’t miss it! And their tiramisu is truly amazing. Lovely people, delicious food!

“Bar Felix mas que un bar” is a Italian restaurant. The pizza and pasta are very good also. If you reserve a dinner, they will make a specified pasta as you want.

And don’t miss going to Castrillo de los Polvarares just a 30 minute walk from the Albergue! It’s a 16th century village that’s restored and it’s like stepping into a time machine. Just take a right from the Albergue and the road takes you straight to the village. Exiting the village you go back to the Camino green track quickly… only adds maybe 1/2 miles to your journey but it’s well worth!
Prettiest village I’ve seen on the Camino so far! Do it!!!
