Fuente, y un lugar para relajarse delante de la iglesia. Si lo haces, no te sorprendas si un lugareño se acerca para desbloquear la iglesia para que la visites.

A partir de aquí hasta Puente de los Fierros hay dos opciones.

Permanecer en la carretera

Antes de entrar en el pequeño pueblo busca un camino a tu izquierda marcado como Fresnedo. En realidad, no hace falta que entres en el pueblo de Puente de los Fierros. Esta ruta te lleva a través de dos aldeas y pasa junto a una ermita (San Miguel), y una fuente.

La alternativa de Munisteriu

Esta es una ruta alternativa más exigente que abandona la carretera poco después de salir del pueblo y que sigue un sendero de montaña de 4,8 km. Es más rigurosa, pero la mayoría de las cosas son gratificantes. Esta ruta incluye un desnivel de 133 m/-387 m.

Nos quedamos en la Albergue Coscoxu. Es un espacio maravilloso, al aire libre y cubierto, para pasar una agradable noche de descanso después de un día desafiante. Tienen servicio de lavandería por 8 euros (lavado y secado) y comida excelente. ¡Mencioné la comida! Mucha de ella, ¡fresca de su huerto!
Pablo y su esposa piensan en todo lo que un peregrino pueda necesitar.

Decided to stay in albergue cascoxu, instead of in Pajares as I originally had planned. And what a great decision that was. Very warm welcome by Pablo, the facilities are amazing, and excellent food to top it off. Please note that you do need to make a reservation at least one day ahead. Highly recommended!

This is worth the extra effort rather than staying in Pajares. Fabulous food & wonderful warm hosts. Perfect stop after a spectacular day in the mountains.

What a wonderful stop after a hard day. Pablo and Rocio do everything right. Their Covid efforts are the best I have seen. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding. Wonderful people working hard to make your stay memorable. The facilities are excellent.

Pablo gave me warm welcome. He and his wife are kind and open hearted hosts. They made a four course dinner and a super breakfast. Highly recommended

Pablo and Rocio give a very friendly welcome. The albergue seems new, though it’s been operational for over 2 years. Great beds, great restaurant, great price for what you receive. Recommended.
