L'uomo di bronzo dall'aspetto molto letterato nella piazza è Jose Saramago, il premio Nobel del '98 e figlio di Azinhaga.

Il cammino

Il Cammino segue la strada principale fino alla fine del paese, dove c'è una rotonda con una statua di torero al centro. Prosegui dritto, passando per Broa.

Vira a destra all'incrocio a T successivo e segui la strada fino a Golegã.

La migliore decisione è stata prendere un Uber. L'ha detto persino l'autista. Letteralmente solo pochi centimetri di marciapiede per i pedoni quando c'è.

La sezione di strada da Azinhaga a Golega è terribile da percorrere a piedi. Molto poco spazio per i pedoni. Poche auto hanno rallentato o si sono spostate per darci spazio. Una coppia sembrava dirigersi verso di noi deliberatamente. Avrei desiderato leggere questi commenti e aver preso il percorso alternativo o aver chiamato un taxi. Non vale la pena il rischio di camminare sulla strada indicata dalle frecce.

Una famiglia affascinante e un luogo splendido per soggiornare ad Azinhaga. Spazio per 4 pellegrini, e offrono cena e colazione. Semplice ma pulito e confortevole. Le donazioni sono accettate. Hanno due gatti e un cane amichevole. La casa non è segnalata, ma si trova sulla strada principale, è una casa blu e bianca come mostrato su Google Maps. I proprietari hanno completato più rotte del Camino e sono molto esperti.

Ero titubante a causa delle altre recensioni, ma ho avuto un servizio veloce e cortese al Cafe Central, e un delizioso toast prosciutto/formaggio e caffè per il pranzo! Lo consigliamo :)

We stayed at Casa de Azzancha September 28th. It was easy to get to it as there are signs as you enter town guiding you. It was easy to pick up the route when we left. The facility is nice and tremendously welcoming and helpful hostess. She even made reservations for us at the restaurant which by the way had the best dessert and we he wine was decent. The hostess provided us with transportation to and from the restaurant. Nice play to stay.

We took the route via the highway and since it was Sunday morning, did not find it an unpleasant experience.

First time I ordered an uber on whole camino to avoid yet another horrible road experience. Worth it for 7 euros!

We stopped here today after 26km of walking. We were hesitant to go to the cafe based on the comments but they are the only location open in town. We decided to not walk the 7 km to Golega based on the comments on line. The local gentleman in the cafe were more than helpful in aiding us in securing a cab to Golega. At one point 3 of them were on the phone trying to book a cab for us

I stopped here for a coffee and sparkling water. I felt incredibly unwelcome, even when I smiled, waved and said boa trade the lady behind the bar and customers just stared at me. The bar lady even stopped serving me to go and serve other customers. No one returned a smile. Very rude. (P.S aside from the bar lady, I was the only other woman to about 12 men)

Cafe Central’s employees and customers have perfected the art of making you feel unwelcome. You are not wanted here.

Another comment here mentions having problems here because of the language (English). I was speaking Portuguese. They made sure I left quickly.

After the bridge turn left to the fields, it is not marked on the map but you can see it clearly outlined on Google maps. Only adds 1.5km and is much more enjoyable and safer. Not marked for the Camino but easy to follow
