Una città piccola ma con molti servizi, è la prima da un po' di tempo a questa parte ad avere un'espansione suburbana (per quanto minore).

Sulla pista ciclabile nella parte "alta" della città troverai O'Bras, mentre alla fine della strada c'è la chiesa e l'albergue (con lavanderia a gettoni sotto) e un ristorante.

Storia

I nomi di Alvaiázere e Alvorge più avanti lungo il Cammino (così come molte altre parole che iniziano con "al-") derivano entrambi dall'arabo. Nel caso di Alvaiázere deriva da 'il falconiere' e nel caso di Alvorge deriva da 'la torre'. La torre è scomparsa da tempo, ma i falconi si possono ancora trovare.

Il cammino

Ci sono diverse strade che escono dalla città, ma il Cammino è ben segnalato. Tuttavia, presta molta attenzione alle frecce e se sei uno che cammina prima dell'alba, ti consigliamo di controllare in anticipo.

Lascia la città attraverso la strada di fronte alla chiesa, svoltando a destra all'altezza di una grande palma.

La prenotazione anticipata è essenziale - è un luogo senza personale. Molto confortevole, solo 2 stanze (una matrimoniale, una con letti a castello), impeccabile con bagni privati e jacuzzi! Ottime strutture di cucina. Nota che si trova in un altro piccolo villaggio prima di Alvaiazere. Le opzioni alimentari sono portare il vostro cibo e cucinare, camminare 800m al supermercato, o camminare 2km ad Alvaiazere. Il numero del tassista al lato in cucina era economico e veloce!

We were very pleased to find cafe as piscinas open, everywhere else closed at 9.30am
Very friendly, lots of pastries.

I loved this albergue. The host takes the time to give each pilgrim a unique stamp. You can tell he really puts a lot of love into this place. If you are looking for spotless, fancy facilities, go elsewhere. But if you are looking for a unique, beautiful, down-to-earth, truly Camino-esque experience, you MUST stay here.

Well positioned and you can choose shared or private rooms, sheets, blankets are supplied and breakfast also is an option. My favourite part however, was the stamping ceremony, the shot of port and the greeting everyone receives. John Brierly loved it also in his lifetime, now his daughter is taking that room named in his honour.

This place is a must do if you’re walking Camino portugués, the host Carlos is amazing making the best stamp with a lot of care. The nearby restaurant is nice too.

Go to alberque pinheiros.
Carlos is such a warm host en makes a whole awesome ritual of the stamp.
He can be a hard man to catch on the phone but call a thousand times and then he will call you back.
Don't miss this guy and his nice alberque

Stayed at pinheiro. Carlos takes 10 mi uses to make a personal unique stamp. He's a great host. Recommend staying here

Decent rooms and very calm. Food of the restaurant was also good, but their pricing is outrageous, 63€ for 2 pers. dinner is way too much. Be careful if you are more sensitive. It is plausible that price is "adjusted" according to the customer.
