Castro Marim est une ville agréable qui possède un château du 13ème siècle, une forteresse militaire plus récente et un moulin à vent restauré.
The Road

En sortant de la ville, un itinéraire alternatif qui devient un chemin de terre entre les pins avec de belles vues sur la campagne est préférable au camino officiel. Il est partagé avec le sentier de randonnée GR15, alors cherche les marques rayées rouges et blanches.

Just to note that if you follow the path marked on the app, there is a dearth of yellow arrows as you leave Castro Marim. If you follow the red and white GR markers however you come to Monte Francisco and the yellow arrows reappear.

Well worth a short detour to the castle at Castro Marim. Only €1.10 entry. There is a church dedicated to Santiago inside the castle walls and there is a view over to Spain.
