The Alto de Ligonde is a modest summit on the route between Portomarín and Palas de Rei. A cruceiro (stone cross) marks the top. The views across the rolling Galician landscape are pleasant. No services.

There is not much in Ligonde except a couple of hostales. But if you don’t want to make the entire trip to Palas de Reí from Portomarín this is a good option.

The one I am currently staying in (Casa Tania) is small (I believe 5 rooms) and if too many electrical items are on at the same time, the power goes off and everything has to reset.

There is food service that needs to be ordered before 17:00 (5:00pm local time) or you are out of luck. It’s a very basic menu but the service (provided by Bar Trisque) is punctual and courteous.
