Das Monasterio de Santa María de Valdedíos aus dem frühen 13. Jahrhundert und die Iglesia de San Salvador de Valdediós aus dem 9. Jahrhundert daneben sind einen Abstecher wert. Das Kloster wird von etwa einem Dutzend Karmeliterinnen bewohnt, die hier auch eine Herberge betreiben.

Excellent stopover. You don’t stay in a Monastery every day. I got there late so missed a visit to the 10th century church which is onsite. Closes 7pm.
I stayed in the Alburgue which is large & clean. Staff lovely. Pilgrim meal was basic but you are in a monastery. Beer & wine available at reception at a very reasonable rate. Loved my visit here.

The pilgrim is very good and it’s a good first experience for the Primitivo. The Monastero is beautiful and we are blessed with a organ concert. The Camino is so ggod for us. I recommend this albergue. The hospitaleros is kind.

Camino de Sant…

The albergue is very basic. No dinner except for a very dirty restaurant opposite the monastery.
