Povoa ist einer der beliebtesten Badeorte Portugals. Hier gibt es zahlreiche Hotels, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und sogar Casinos. All dies wurde für die Touristen gebaut, die an die fast 12 km langen Strände strömen. Das Museum für Ethnographie und Geschichte von Póvoa de Varzim enthält eine reichhaltige Sammlung aus der bedeutenden Seefahrergeschichte von Povoa.

The Road

Zwischen Póvoa und A Ver-o-Mar kann man den gesamten Weg direkt entlang der Küste wandern. Kurz vor der Ankunft in A Ver-o-Mar ist die Beschilderung unklar. Wenn Sie zu einem großen Fußballplatz (ohne Rasen) gelangen, schauen Sie dass Sie links daran vorbeigehen. Mit dem Platz auf ihrer Rechten Seite führt der Weg über eine kleine Brücke.

Falls der Fußballplatz sich zu ihrer Linken befindet, biegen Sie am Ende des Feldes einfach nach links und gehen Sie geradeaus über eine andere Brücke, die Sie über eine kleine Sandstrecke auch nach A Ver-o-Mar führt.

Need more drinking water, once you are on 12.4 KM boardwalk there are a few WCs. But no drinking water. Watch your water especially on hot day like today.

Very nice hotel , book early as we got a nice room with breakfast for under $80. The rate the day we checked in was $230 . Beds are great, shower is great. What more could you ask. A grocery store just a few steps away. We bought a bottle of wine but did not have a cork screw and the young man at the store opened it for us..

Café in the city center near metro and Camino. Open early, before 8:00. Extensive menu including American style egg breakfasts, with English menu. Lots of options. Great coffee and friendly service.

Not far off coastal route. Maybe 3 blocks? Nice people. We have a room for 3people. There are 2 bunk beds in private room. Private shower, hot water and loads of water pressure! A definite must!! Only 53 euros

I didn’t see any water fountains on the Camino from Póvoa de Varzim to Eposende - you will need to ask for a refill in cages

Super easy booking and arrival. Clean, basically on the beach. Right on Camino. Nice beds with privacy curtains and a nice terrace to hang out in. Kitchen and hand washing area. Towels provided.

Casa fragosa costs 18 €, but had sheets, blankets and towels, plus a super cute location right by the beach.

After the center right by the beach comes the restaurant 'Palador'. They had great service and amzing portuguese food, including fresh fish and scampis.
