Die Metro Linie A (Linha de Matosinhos) endet in Matosinhos und bietet eine bequeme Möglichkeit, die am wenigsten aufregende Landschaft, das Stadtgebiet zu vermeiden. Falls Sie Porto nicht besuchen möchten, können Sie auch direkt vom Flughafen hierher fahren, mit nur einmal umsteigen. 

The Road

Der Camino führt entlang der Strandpromenade nach Matosinhos und biegt am Hafen landeinwärts. Es geht im Zick-Zack auf die Brücke über den Río Leça. Am Ende der Brücke biegen Sie am großen Kreisverkehr links ab, um der Rua Hintze Ribeiro in Richtung Ozean zu folgen.

Had a lovely stay here - a nice starting point or end to a short first stage after Porto. Very open sharing living spaces, well equipped kitchen and very close to the beach and a Lidl. Beds in dormitory were comfortable and bathrooms were fine - quite spacious.

You can get a stamp at the tourist office. Keep in mind it closes at 1pm on Sunday and it is not open on Monday.

Not far from the route or from the town centre (very short walk to Lidl), and really lovely and cosy! Quite quiet when I stayed. Filled with gorgeous art. Was offered a gorgeous wax stamp for my passport (unfortunately it flaked off during the next days walk, but still very appreciated!)

27€ for a 10 bed dorm. Highly recommend if you’re in matosinhos

He has a pilgrim menu for lunch. Appetizer, a glass of wine or something else to drink, a main course, dessert, and coffee. Very wonderful service…he gets the produce from his farm and makes his own pasta!

There is a freshly renovated local market on the left right before the bridge. Refreshing to get some fruit.
Also if you fallow the path after the tourism info center some kilometer later there is a tiny post office that gives a beautiful stamp.

The bridge across the Rio Leca is closed until the end of July 2019. There is a free shuttle bus next to the bridge.

Stayed in MyStay Matosinhos Centro. Only 7 minutes from the airport with Uber and a great start to the Camino. Beautiful apartments and very central

Camino de Sant…

Stayed at pensão central and it was great! Large room with private bath for €49 for 2 people. Breakfast included. Not far from the Camino - easy to find and get to.
