Der Camino durchquert den Ort am Hügel auf einem sehr indirekten Weg.

The Road

Am Ortsende, wo sich ein kleiner Brunnen in einer Mauer befindet, zeigt der Camino nach links. Besuchen Sie die romanische Kirche oder biegen Sie rechts ab und sparen Sie sich den nicht unbedingt notwendigen Aufstieg und Umweg.

Der Camino folgt der asphaltierten Straße, bis die Straße rechts abbiegt, um zur Nationalstraße zurückzukehren. An diesem Punkt führt der Camino geradeaus und in den Wald hinein. Der Waldweg führt zu einer kleinen Ansammlung von Häusern, wo Sie rechts abbiegen und die Nationalstraße überqueren.

Folgen Sie der schmalen Straße nach Lugar do Corgo und darüber hinaus.

Nice restaurant only 600 meters from the Camino. It’s also possible to spend the night in a shared apartment (there is two rooms so it’s only shared if both rooms are booked).

From the moment you enter this quiet calm space, the family attends to all of your needs. Nothing is too much. The rooms, the outside area, the food, the jacuzzi, pool and other facilities led me to take a break day here also. Each room has two beautiful, comfortable armchairs to lounge in, the evening meal in the outside eating area, breakfast is offered in the inside breakfast room. There are no shortcuts taken, the food array/options are outstanding, night meals have a couple of choices. I recommend the salmon, curry rice and salad. There are a good range of wines etc to purchase. Everyone enjoyed their choices. I highly recommend the extra cost and slight detour. I paid €60 for my room, the bed was so comfortable that I slept in for the first time since Lisbon.

I had a reservation in this rural but chic little hotel but was not expecting such a wonderful and quaint place. The original house is 500 years old and there were extensive renovations and elargement done to create a place where you would love to stay longer. A bit far from the Caminho (1 km) but sure worth the extra steps! A pool , a jacuzzi and a marvellous outdoor dining area adds to this beautiful, quiet and well kept hotel. Obrigada!!

I stayed there a few days ago, and it is a really nice place. The host was very helpfull and guided me to a take-away close by, where I could buy food.

I wanted to eat in Balugães but the Camino did not seem to pass any cafes or restaurants. Perhaps I missed a sign but if there was one it surely must not have been obvious. I got to the end of town and then googled places to eat and had to walk back quite a bit before finding a place (cafe/restaurante Altamira)

Camino de Sant…

Excellent stop but not a lot of places to eat. We are at a gas station down the road. The food was very good.
