Azambuja ist ein mittelgroßer Ort mit allen notwendigen Dienstleistungen. Im Hinweis zum Parque das Nações finden Sie Informationen darüber, wie man den Zug direkt zum Bahnhof hierher nehmen könnte.

The Road

Busy in Albergue Peregrinos tonight, but the lady who runs it is very friendly.
Bunk beds only and they appear to have overflow single folding beds.
You get a sheet and a pillow and if you ask nicely you can get a blanket too.
There is an outside space where you can wash your clothes and dry them, sit and relax etc.

For a bite to eat, leave the albergue and turn right (maybe 25/30m) is a restaurant called Os Segredos d’Avó, the lady who served us was very helpful and with the little Portuguese we spoke combined with her little English we ended up with a nice home cooked chicken and rice meal. Azambuja is a nice place too.

I was just quoted €80 as a Camino rate for a single person for one night at the Ouro. Heading to the Flor da Primavera which is €65 on booking con.

This Albergue is great. It has everything you need. For only 10€ you get a sheet and pillow. The capacity of Albergue is proximately 14 - 16 people (everyone is sleeping in the same room). There are 2 showers, 2 toilets, garden where you can dry your clothes and small kitchen (with microwave and electric kettle, unfortunately without stove). This Albergue was very clean. It is located few metres from the Camino and there is a shop nearby.

The last week of May sees the highlight of the social calendar for this small town. The running of the bulls. Anyone who passes through here from 24th to 31st May may have to walk a little faster than normal to keep out of the way of the charging bulls and horses. Town goes into party mode.

Camino de Sant…

We stayed in Azambuja on August 14 2021, in an albergue which is not listed in the app. It is called, unsurprisingly, Albergue de Peregrinos de Azambuja. When the camino turns right towards the railway, don't take the turn but keep walking on the street for like 50 meters. The albergue will be on the right, marked by the shell of Santiago. Had a QR code on the door, which gave us a phone number, we called it and the hospitaleiro arrived in 15 minutes. Nice small albergue, €10 for a bunk bed, we were the only ones staying there. (I took the idea from a comment under the paroquial albergue in this app, but that one is closed and this is a different albergue.)

Camino de Sant…

We decide skip all industrial outskirts and too a training from lisboa - cost 4,55 and many people told as, that was good idea. Theres really nothing, jus sun and road.

Camino de Sant…

The Albergue Espirito Santo ist definitely closed. But the News Albergue, just a few steps away ist a good place to stay and highly recommended.

Camino de Sant…

Parochial albergue charges 6€ and has overflow capacity in a separate house
