Es gibt mehrere Restaurants in diesem kleinen Ort, einige sind schicker als andere. Ein kleiner Erkundungsspaziergang lohnt sich hier, bevor man sich entscheidet.

The Road

Um auf dem Camino zu bleiben, überqueren Sie nicht den Parkplatz sondern schauen nach rechts. Gleich hinter der Residencia Pobeña führt ein schmaler Pfad bergauf zu einem schönen Weg entlang der Landzunge.

Der Camino dreht sich kurz vor der Ankunft in Ontón landeinwärts und passiert die A-8 und auf dem Weg nach Kantabrien.

Muito bom acolhimento, o hospitaleiro adicionou 2 colchões porque não havia camas suficientes.

O albergue de Pobeña está longe de ser "ótimo" - é velho, apertado, decadente e desconfortável. Não existe uma verdadeira área comum, pois a cozinha e a "sala" ficam em um dos quartos do dormitório, portanto não há lugar para socializar ou se preparar pela manhã sem perturbar os outros, e esqueça de tentar cozinhar qualquer tipo de refeição.
(Felizmente, o restaurante e o bar da cidade são excelentes - mas não há lugar para comprar comestíveis ou nem mesmo lanches.) A situação dos banheiros é abominável - apenas um sanitário para homens e mulheres em um local que dorme 38 (faça as contas.) Sem sabonete ou desinfetante nas pias dos banheiros, portanto a situação geral de higiene é questionável. A mulher que o administra é algo de um personagem e gostei muito dela, embora o processo de check-in seja lento e trabalhoso - não é bom quando está chovendo e dezenas de peregrinos têm que esperar lá fora para fazer o check-in.
No geral, é utilizável, mas apenas por pouco.

Uma senhora que parece viver no albergue faz o check-in de um hóspede de cada vez. Pode levar muito tempo. Ela parece incrivelmente apaixonada pelo seu trabalho. Ela lhe deseja uma muito bonita "buenas noches" à noite e apaga as luzes. Se você acordar tarde, ela o pressiona para partir rapidamente. Ela tocava música e gritava às 6 da manhã enquanto tocava Adele no seu telefone para acordar todos.

O hospitaleiro que encontrei foi pouco prestável e parecia bastante infeliz no seu papel. Caso contrário, o albergue era relativamente aceitável

We stayed here on 4th August and got a bed however many others missed out. Check in opens at 4pm and by the time we arrived at 2.15 there were already at least 20 pilgrims waiting and there was nearly 40 by the time check in opened. Check in was very slow and inefficient as there was only the one host to check everyone in and many waited in line for up to an hour only to be told there were no more beds. Lovely beach town, only minutes to beach, multiple good restaurants and bars.

As written here, the albergue is simple but very clean. Keep in mind that there is one very big room with a lot of people. The restaurant around the corner has a value for money pelgrims menu with a lot of options.

The costal path is blocked with a fence due to danger of stones falling down! Had to walk back !

Highly recommend staying here! Very friendly host, great restaurants, and we had a relaxing stroll in the evening sun. Great swim spot too.

This was an incredible albergue, very hospitable and helpful. We also tried the pilgrims menu just behind the albergue that is available and had plenty to eat. The vegetarian options were limited but we were still full for the 12€ set price. Highly recommend staying here! :)
