A Calzadilla la chiesa di San Martín, praticamente l’ultima chiesa visitabile lungo il cammino, offre un’interessante e generosa collezione di croci di Santiago.

Il cammino

Il tratto tra qui e Ledigos, lungo 6,2km, presenta diverse deviazioni. Una grande pietra con delle indicazioni, alla fine del paese, segna la possibilità di scegliere tra più itinerari. Queste opzioni si snodano tutte sul versante collinare, lontano dalla strada. La maggior parte di esse si riunisce poco prima di Ledigos, ma il sentiero tutto sulla sinistra/ovest (conosciuto con il nome di itinerario Palomares, per la grande quantità di colombaie lungo la via) aggira sia Ledigos che Teradillos, ed è la strada più breve per Moratinos.

Ci sono due furgoni di caffè lungo la tappa di 17 km di oggi, approssimativamente ai punti di 7 km e 8 km. Non sono sicuro se ciò accade ogni giorno.

Tre di noi abbiamo soggiornato qui il 28 febbraio 2026. L'ospedaliero era erratico, imprevedibile e sembrava ubriaco. Non rispettava la nostra privacy. Potevamo sentirlo gridare e urlare durante tutta la notte, sbattere porte e lanciare cose in giro. Se questo ospedaliero rimane, non ti consigliereremmo di stare lì!

Purtroppo, come altrove sul Cammino finora, anche questa chiesa è chiusa. Trovo molto un peccato poter visitare così poche chiese.

I stayed at Albergue Los Canarios back in 2017 and had the best ever pilgrim dinner at their restaurant. I don't remember what my first course was, but the second course was roasted lemon chicken with roasted potatoes (no French fries!) and red pepper puree. When I returned to Calzadilla de la Cueza this year I crossed my fingers that they were still serving this excellent menú and fortunately they are. I started with a delicious gazpacho and once again had the lemon chicken. Still the best!

I booked a private room which is a different building a little ways to the left of the albergue you run into when arriving to this small village. It was a pleasant enough stay. Kind people, good enough food, clean room with a private bathroom. I love the interior plants.

Nataneal is a great host, friendly & welcoming. The pool is large enough to swim in, cool & clean. There are hand washing facilities with soap provided, plus a washing machine & tumble dryer if required. For only 10 euros, we were very happy. Breakfast was outstanding! 3 euros for a great buffet that would have cost €5 or. €6 elsewhere. The albergue is still a work in progress- so get there early to get showered before the rush

This place is so modern and comfortable… totally clean ofcourse.
I felt almost like having a hotel room :)

After the highway of pilgrims in the morning I had a wonderful and peaceful afternoon from Calzadilla to Moratinos without seeing another person. To do this take the most southern of the routes to bypass Ledigos, but you need this app to navigate the myriad of local tracks and sometimes you are feeling you are heading way off course. But well worth it.
