Ci sono diversi ristoranti in questa piccola città, alcuni più sofisticati di altri. Fai una breve passeggiata per scoprirli prima di sistemarti.

Il cammino

Per continuare a seguire il Cammino, non attraversare il parcheggio. Guarda invece alla tua destra; subito dopo la Residencia Pobeña c'è un sentiero stretto che ti porta in salita per una bella passeggiata lungo i promontori.

Il Cammino svolta verso l'interno e passa sotto l'A-8 poco prima di arrivare a Ontón, e lungo il percorso si attraversa la Cantabria.

Accoglienza molto buona, l'ostello ha aggiunto 2 materassi perché non c'erano abbastanza posti letto.

L'albergue di Pobeña è tutt'altro che "straordinario" - è vecchio, stretto, fatiscente e scomodo. Non c'è una vera zona comune poiché la cucina e la "sala" si trovano in una delle camerate, quindi non c'è un posto dove socializzare o prepararsi al mattino senza disturbare gli altri, e scordati di cercare di cucinare qualunque pasto.
(Fortunatamente il ristorante e il bar in paese sono eccellenti - ma non c'è posto per comprare generi alimentari o anche solo snack.) La situazione dei bagni è abominevole - un solo wc per uomini e donne in un posto che ospita 38 persone (fai il conto.) Nessun sapone o disinfettante nei lavandini del bagno, quindi la situazione igienica generale è discutibile. La donna che lo gestisce è piuttosto un personaggio e mi è piaciuta molto, anche se il processo di check-in è lento e laborioso - non ideale quando piove e dozzine di pellegrini devono aspettare fuori per il check-in.
Insomma, è gestibile, ma a malapena.

Una signora che sembra vivere presso l'ostello vi accoglie uno alla volta. Può richiedere molto tempo. Sembra incredibilmente appassionata del suo lavoro. Vi augura una buonanotte molto gradevole con un "buenas noches" gentile e spegne le luci. Se vi svegliate tardi, vi spinge a partire rapidamente. Metteva musica e gridava alle 6 del mattino mentre suonava Adele dal suo telefono per svegliare tutti.

L'hospitalero che ho trovato era poco disponibile e sembrava abbastanza infelice nel suo ruolo. Altrimenti l'albergo era relativamente ok

We stayed here on 4th August and got a bed however many others missed out. Check in opens at 4pm and by the time we arrived at 2.15 there were already at least 20 pilgrims waiting and there was nearly 40 by the time check in opened. Check in was very slow and inefficient as there was only the one host to check everyone in and many waited in line for up to an hour only to be told there were no more beds. Lovely beach town, only minutes to beach, multiple good restaurants and bars.

As written here, the albergue is simple but very clean. Keep in mind that there is one very big room with a lot of people. The restaurant around the corner has a value for money pelgrims menu with a lot of options.

The costal path is blocked with a fence due to danger of stones falling down! Had to walk back !

Highly recommend staying here! Very friendly host, great restaurants, and we had a relaxing stroll in the evening sun. Great swim spot too.

This was an incredible albergue, very hospitable and helpful. We also tried the pilgrims menu just behind the albergue that is available and had plenty to eat. The vegetarian options were limited but we were still full for the 12€ set price. Highly recommend staying here! :)
