We are enjoying a really lovely stop here where Mariano our host has made everything feel like home. A great welcome, fantastic bathroom set up, clothes hangers for our wet clothes and sheets for the bed. Thank you for the hospitality on a wet and windy day!

If you are passing through Melide, stay here! The hospitalero is an amazing man, from the minute he lets you in the door you can tell how much he cares about every single person who walks into his place. He says, “welcome home,” and it really is. Everything you could possibly need for the evening, cozy and quiet, right down to ice in the freezer there for sore knees and legs and a leg massage machine for just 2 euro! Before he left for the night, he came around and said goodbye to every single person there, and told us how happy he is that we are there in his hostel. What an incredible man, and an incredible experience, just as things are starting to get crazy out there with all of the people on the trails now. I will forever be grateful that we stopped here, and you would be too!

Came in on the Camino Primitivo to this delightful albergue. This is a clean, quiet place with thoughtful amenities like bath mats for the showers and huge shelves by each bed. The hospitalero Mariano is patient and helpful to tired pilgrims. He made sure to speak clearly and slowly as it is obvious that Spanish is my second language. He also spoke good English. He offered many helpful pointers to the closest markets, bars and he got us to the local Catholic Church in time for Mass.

This is one of the best hostel-style albergues I've stayed in. 10 of 10 stars - I recommend Arriagos.

Make sure to save 2€ for the foot and leg massager. It felt great after two weeks of walking!

I read reviews, I don’t write them, but I had to write this one. This place had it all. Great shower with soap and hooks provided. Towels and blankets. Paper towel and soap in the wc. Pleasant environment with good mattresses. The host was friendly and very helpful..One of my poles broke and I asked him for some duct tape which he quickly provided. When he saw me trying to repair my pole he offered that I could have a spare pole that someone had left behind. It’s true- “the Camino provides “.

We had a wonderful stay at Mariano’s place after a long and wet day. He is a former pilgrim who knows what pilgrims need—including ice and a small massage machine for my persistent shin splint! Sometimes it’s the little things that matter like shower gel, paper towel in the restroom, and the thing that perhaps I have missed most: an after -shower step-out mat! Mariano was very welcoming and has truly thought of everything. I highly recommend this albergue!

Most of us should disregard the rant below. Arraigos is a lovely resting place for peregrinos. Starting with a very friendly welcome, we were shown the features of the place - he is obviously very proud of it! Spacious sitting area and functional kitchen, ice for sore spots, excellent bathroom facilities and a pleasant dorm environment. All good. Very close to supermarkets and other goodies. The steps up were a bit of a challenge for these ageing knees, so be prepared to hold something in reserve for the final "hill" of the day! Seriously - a great albergue.

A beautifully clean albergue. Shower gel in the shower. Ice in the freezer. Little touches that make a difference. The host is a delightful man who will go out of his way to make you feel welcome. Right in the main street this is a must stay.
