Nice new hostel. One two level dormitory. Showers and toilets in different building, with covered walkway. A bit wet in rainy weather. Microwave and two burner stove but no pots, pans or dishes. Like most new public hostels, does not have any blankets.

Arrive for opening at 1300 if not before. We arrived at 1255 and only got a bed. 19 beds are available, not 22 that some sites suggest.
Cafe and bar up the street. Nice and basic food that hits the spot. Prigrims meal for €11

Very nice place, beds on main floor and second floor. Upstairs was quieter and warmer. No vending machine and the water station outside was the first broken one we encountered. Little stream for soaking your feet. Super friendly local cat to greet you. Fills up by 130pm on a first come first serve basis. As others said the bathrooms are outside and the women’s faces the courtyard/ main door so there is no privacy to change. Clean place, excellent local restaurant with a pilgrims menu. Doors lock at 10pm.

If you need to stay there, wake up super early is recommended. Both Alberges were full after 2 pm, one of them you can book in advance, couple days before there should be some bed available. We had to stay in Hotel Canaima which is very pricey as algorithm on booking.com is not friendly.

As a xunta it’s fine, a bed, hot water and a place to poo. But if it’s busy you will have to wait. The shower door is right opposite the entrance to the bathroom and that’s where you get undressed/dressed. Made a bit more awkward as the ladies is opposite the door to the dorms. Had I known, I would have stayed at the private albergue up the road.

Having your own sheets and a duvet is a good idea.

Camino de Sant…

There is a new restaurant bar the Casa Grana about 20 metres past the albergue which serves dinner and breakfast. It also has free Wifi.
