Tanta gentilezza!

Olivier was working so hard to make sure we had a clean bed and hot meal. There were 12 - so it was almost full. This place was very simple and clean- all one needs. The price was right for me. Don’t come here if you want to be a whiner and be pampered . Come if you want to meet great people and share conversation, commonalities and trail experiences while eating amazing lentil soup with chorizo! He made a vegetable salad and we each had a dish of homemade custard plus some wine. I personally liked my sleeping cubby and am grateful for the warm and clean bed!

very down to earth, old spanish home that feels so good - would definitely stay here again and would be happy to stay in similar places.

The gentleman who runs the place may be gruff, but he’s honest, down to earth, and kind hearted. Speaks very good English and French and led great conversations with other pilgrims. Beautiful place to rest in a lovely village and well worth stopping for.

Facilities does what you need, although it can be hard to be quiet if getting up early as the bunks are separated by walls (feels private) but not roofs in the big room.

Nice to have somewhere still under ten euro per night run by a great hospitelero (€8). Also cooks a meal with wine for those who want it (around €10).

Welcomed by Oliver that took a genuine interest in every Pilgrim , asking where they came from today and where they started their Camino . He cooked a delicious, plentiful, three course dinner for the Pilgrims , with wine also ,and offered suggestions to us , engaging as we ate . The Albergue is clean , comfortable mattresses, and cubicles with only two bunks in each . Felt very private and only 8€ per bed and 10€ each for dinner . Definitely I would stay again and so much more of a Pilgrim experience than when we stayed in El Acebo last year .

A hospitalero has a tough job, but one of those jobs is to make the smallest effort to make Pilgrims feel comfortable and welcome when they arrive.
Oliver makes no effort to do this.
This is a Municipal Albergue that opens at 1:30pm.
When three Pilgrims arrived at around 1:45pm Oliver was not happy that they had not pre booked and said there wasn’t enough dinner for them.
The only bar in town was shut.
No shops are open.
You aren’t able to prebook Municipal albergues, yet you can phone here and reserve beds at this one.
Pilgrims who don’t prebook shouldn’t be treated badly.
I would do everything I could to avoid this albergue.

Whilst this is on the Camino and easy to find, it feels like an oasis from the crowds and commercialism that’s present on other parts of the Camino. A sunny garden and courtyard, places to sit inside by the window and reflect, and covering all the necessities of camino life - this albergue is worth every cent.

Olivier, the host, was a delight and very accommodating. He cooked a delicious lentil soup with Chorizo sausage on the side, an amazing potato salad filled with vegetables and pudding for dessert. The cubicles with four built-in, solid bunk beds were comfortable, a cubby for your backpack, but dark. There were places to charge phones away from bunks. Separate women and men washrooms with one shower and one toilet each for 26 people but it seemed to work ok. There is no wifi (which was challenging but perhaps good for one night), one bar and no store. The village is beautiful. I enjoyed my night here.
