Le bar de San Román est ouvert tous les jours à partir de 11 heures. Sympathiques et serviables, ils se tiennent au courant de la disponibilité des lits dans les deux albergues en haut du sentier ; qui sont souvent répertoriés comme étant à San Román.

The Road

Les choses ont tendance à devenir un peu délicates ici si vous n'en êtes pas pleinement conscient. San Román se trouve à l'intersection de deux routes de campagne, et à partir d'ici, le camino part dans deux directions différentes, ou du moins c'était le cas jusqu'à l'année dernière. Cela signifie que d'anciennes flèches peuvent encore exister qui vous mèneraient à Palas de Rei sur le Camino Francés plutôt qu'à Melide.

Depuis le bar de San Román, dirigez-vous vers l'ouest (tournez à droite en sortant du bar). Lorsque tu déboucheras sur la route quelque 70 m plus loin, traverse la route et emprunte le chemin en face de toi. Les albergues se trouvent un peu plus loin.

As of 2024 you can get a beer at O’Candido where we are staying and basic food. Also before turning down the lane to the albergues there was a bar that seemed to be open although we didn’t stop. It’s nice here, sitting out amongst the trees. Very peaceful.

The bar about 750 m before the albergue is open and sitting in the sun with a cold beer and giant bocadillo was the highlight of the afternoon. Worth a stop, even if you are heading further on.

I stayed in the public albergue and it was very basic. You could call it cosy and charming...?

The kitchen is in the middle of the room, so not a good set up if others are trying to nap in the afternoon or if you want a morning coffee. A nice stove but only one pot to cook with.

It's a nice place if you are staying with a group of friends but I think too cramped with strangers.

Next time I would skip this town and walk on to Ferreira (but stop for a beer at San Romao tavern)

We had to do the meal service by our self…the cook comes late after 8 PM.

There is a bar at the Albergue O Candido. A very welcome break after all the road walking.

The bar is gone as of july 22. There is a bar at the next Albergue. The young bunch from the municipal came up in the morning and thier buddies let them in so they cleaned out the included breakfast before many of us got to it.

No bar to be found in San Roman. The first option you have in many km is the bar/food service at the Albergue O Candido.
