Dans O Pobo / Santa Marta, un itinéraire alternatif vers Pontevedra se présente sur le côté gauche de la route.

Tournez à gauche pour suivre les panneaux en direction du Rio Tomeza. Ce chemin fait 3,6 km jusqu'à l'albergue de Pontevedra (au début de la ville, près des gares ferroviaires et routières), et l'itinéraire routier original jusqu'au même point fait 2,8 km.

The river trail is very muddy and eroded in spots. There were downed trees that required a detour. It was not particularly scenic - there was trash and most of the plants were invasives - English ivy, etc.

Heads up. Just walked this today and it’s nice enough but be prepared to get really sodden feet and up to your ankles in mud. Flooding is quite amazing. Made for a tiring albeit rural end to the day.

Wonderful walk by the river. Even on the rainy day it wasn’t so much mud. Better than the road 100%

Just before you enter Santa Marta, there’s a café bar signposted 50m off the route. Stopped for a nice coffee and tortilla for breakfast. Very good - recommend

Went to green (basic) road. Nothing extraordinary. Just walking on a car road. Wonder what was at the left turn?

Took the alternative road before Pontevedra, very nice walk through the forest, would recommend it - definitely worth the extra 800m!
