Briallos

Situé le long d'une déviation du camino, bien signalé. Il ajoute quelques mètres au trajet mais dispose d'une albergue municipale dans une ville tranquille.

The Road

Stopped at this lovely albergue last night. Nothing fancy, but basics well covered. Doesn’t open till 3 and you’ll need to make a reservation. Shout out to Pedro the hospitalero who was magnificent, a quirky star of the Camino Portuguese.
There is a donativo communal evening meal and breakfast which he sorts single handed.
He was still finding mattresses for people who hadn’t reserved by 8 pm, turning no one away.
Great personality, over 30 eventually sitting down for a great dinner and 14 nationalities.
He is the best hospitalero on this Camino and yes, I include Fernanda at Casa Fernanda,
Well done Pedro

This is a nice quiet and rural spot. The owner is very kind, welcoming, and cooked a great meal. This place has very chill and communal vibes if that is what you are looking for in an experience. The big dinner together is fun. They have WiFi and blankets.

Have been more welcoming. From registration to the end of the night which included a communal dinner with excellent soup, wine and great conversation with pilgrims being from 8 different countries! The host is very proud of his Albergue and the role it plays in the Camino. Excellent place to stay and to enjoy the companionship- I recommend it highly.

Did not experience any of the rudeness , the other comments talked about.
Warm welcome with music and wood fire on to welcome me. Warm sleeping accommodation , which you can not say about many other A in December.
Warm soup and bread and eggs ready to take as well. Just lovely. Jorge and this Albergue I can recommend fully

Pedro strongly advised alburgue doesn’t open until 3pm and to come back then. Upon our return he was welcoming once he knew we had a reservation however he was volatile and agree with previous comments regarding his behavior towards guests.

Just as the other comments said, host is rude. Was yelling as a pilgrim to get out since they didn’t make a reservation yet there were 3 empty beds that never got filled. Communal dinner was a very weird experience as the host was extremely controlling the entire time.

Pedro is rude and condescending. This is the case towards women in particular as I hear the same story from most of the ladies I stayed with.
This put a dampener on such a beautiful space.
I feel as if Pedro enjoys the power especially during check in process.

I loved how they had lots of drinks and snacks for a donation. The communal dinner was also enjoyable esp because they cater to vegetarians.

It’s a shame that I very on edge about the host and felt afraid of him.

Es war eine tolle Erfahrung dort den Abend zu verbringen. Es wurde gemeinsam gegessen und getrunken. Tolle Menschen und toller Platz. Es war eine besondere positive Erfahrung und es gab alles was man brauchte.

3.05.2023/A detour to the Barro waterfall is worthwhile after a long hike. It is very nice to have a coffee/cold drink or to satisfy a small appetite with pizza by the rushing water. Very nice place.
