Comme Zubiri, Larrasoaña possède un pont qui est bien connu, bien que pour des raisons moins bénéfiques. Au lieu de guérir, c'était un point fréquent de banditisme ; le nom du pont est le Puente de los Bandidos . C'est un concept important à garder à l'esprit si tu te trouves en train d'essayer d'imaginer la vie d'un pèlerin médiéval. Dans toute l'Espagne, les histoires de banditisme apparaissent, et quand elles le font, il y a le plus souvent une rivière impliquée.

Les pèlerins modernes peuvent difficilement se plaindre de l'état des traversées de rivières, mais le pèlerin médiéval se retrouvait fréquemment (selon le siècle) dans une situation plus difficile. Les rivières elles-mêmes augmentent en taille au fur et à mesure que tu continues vers l'ouest, et certaines d'entre elles ont l'air vraiment intimidantes. Elles constituaient un choix naturel pour une foule plus malfaisante cherchant à exploiter les pèlerins.

History
Larrasoaña a une longue histoire d'hospitalité envers les pèlerins, bien qu'on ne le devine pas à son état actuel. Un monastère augustinien et deux hospices pour pèlerins ont servi le pèlerinage pendant la majeure partie des 8 siècles. Malheureusement, il n'en reste que peu de choses. Deux chapelles, dédiées à Saint Blaise et Saint Jacques, sont tout ce qui existe des confréries autrefois grandes et puissantes dédiées aux soins des pèlerins qui existaient ici et qui faisaient de Larrasoaña une étape importante sur le chemin.

Almari is found about 300m on the right of the first road in Larrasoana. Oliver the owner is a pilgrim in excess of 15 times. He warmly
welcomed me, and was helpful in arranging my accommodation. Ate a tasty Paella accompanied with white wone. There are lots of perishables and not perishables for sale.

Cross into Larrosoana go over the bridge and take first right turn and walk 300m to Cafe Amari. A massive welcome awaits you from Olivier, who serves a breakfast Tea/Coffee, Croissants (early birds) Toast and Orange juice with the spirit of the Camino.

I stayed here in early September and it was a great experience. Kind hosts, comfortable and clean facilities, a wonderful pilgrims menu. I would recommend.

Cafe Amari is open, cross the bridge go to the main road and walk about 300 metres. We knew it was open as he has a car parked on the Camino side of the bridge advertising the cafe. Very welcoming cafe owner.

We walked from Zubiri with the intention of having a late breakfast at Larrasoaña!
Unfortunately it was closed, meaning that we had to walk on another 3.5kms to the next town.
Don't bank on it to be open.

Albergue San Niclas is also closed until 15 March, if you are lucky you can get a deal in Pension Tau, where there is a lovely host then will cook a nice dinner for you.
Make sure to make a reservation ahaead if you want to stay here early March!

Had a coffee and a great chat today with Oliver, the owner of the cafe and shop. Lovely place for a stop. Nice little shop. Gave us some great recommendations for Pamplona.

I went to several places and couldn’t find anyone. The shop was closed. The Albergues were closed. There was no one there.Ok it was midday but did expect someone around.

Comfortable space, great host, proactively made reservations for the next day. Dinner was great and lively. Recommend San Nicolas.
